Head to SoHo for some delicious French/Italian food inspired by the essence of Cannes and its film festival.
Enjoy upscale Mediterranean cuisine served in an atmosphere that evokes the Mediterranean Riviera.
Last night, I got to try a few appetizers at Pera Soho, a gorgeous Mediterranean restaurant on Thompson Street. The restaurant occupies a large space with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, including a roof deck with views of midtown and the Empire State Building.
On Monday night, I was invited to eat at Barrio 47, an intimate West Village eatery specializing in wood-fired, Mediterranean cuisine and creative cocktails—crafted with house infused spirits. This has been a particularly rainy week, and Monday was no exception. Although I found myself walking, in the rain, in the wrong direction to the restaurant, once I finally got my bearings and found the place—ironically it is very close to the subway station—I instantly forgot about my soggy adventure.
When I lived in the Bronx, I would often venture south to the Upper West Side for dinner. I think this might be my favorite neighborhood in Manhattan. I love the architecture and the laid-back attitude of most of the residents. Plus, there are so many restaurants, music venues and retail shops.
