Last night, I headed to Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola—one of the Jazz at Lincoln Center venues housed in the Time Warner Center. I’d never been to the space, which rests on the skyscraper’s fifth floor and includes amazing views of the southwest corner of Central Park. The intimate room is filled with tables, where patrons can enjoy a number of southern-style selections, including such favorites as N’awlins Fry (a combination of shrimp, crawfish tails, calamari, oysters, and spicy remoulade), fried green tomatoes, catfish Po’boys, and shrimp and grits.
Tonight and Saturday, head to The Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall, for a night of blues with Grammy®-winning guitarist and vocalist Alvin Youngblood Hart. Fellow guitarist Corey Harris and harmonica player Phil Wiggins will join Hart for two nights of acoustic blues.
