The NYC Barbershop Museum is a fully functioning vintage tonsorial parlor for men. (Arthur Rubinoff)

NYC Barbershop Museum

Step back in time, through blue and wine-colored velvet curtains, into this museum and genuine barbershop where—amid chandeliers, gilt-corniced walls and Empire-style chests—you can indulge in a haircut, straight-razor shave and head massage, seated in a 1920s hyraulic chair, while learning about the vintage tools displayed around you. You can buy shaving cream and shampoo from the museum’s proprietary line as well.

Signature packages include the “21st-Century Gold Haircut” at $118 (scissors cut, complementary champagne and light snacks, one Reamir & Co. product of choice) and a personal sterile comb as a gift) and the “Gold Shave” at $100 (hot-towel shave, plus 15-minute facial, neck and shoulder massage)
