SingleCut Beersmiths

Housemade brews are canned at the source and poured from nine taps at this Astoria brewhouse and taproom, which rotates classic albums on vinyl daily. A pop-up kitchen by Astoria's Salt & Bone Smokehouse is open Th-Su and offers brisket or pulled pork tacos, nachos, soft pretzels and plates of pickled vegetables.


Gorgeous city views look even more spectacular from this new rooftop lounge from the famous Rainbow Room, located at the top of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Lights twinkle brightly as you sip on classic cocktails (Negronis and Manhattans) and contemporary concoctions (Room With a View, made with El Dorado 15-year rum, Cointreau, Foggy Ridge First Fruit Cider and nutmeg). Upscale munchies include roasted spiced nuts, Gigacup oysters, local artisan cheese platters, foie gras paté and sashimi.

Sky Room

Manhattan’s highest rooftop lounge (it’s on the 34th floor) offers views of the skyline and Hudson River; a menu of thin-crust pizzas, sliders, satays and quesadillas; and special cocktails crafted from muddled fruit and premium liquors. Mon-Sat 5 p.m.-4 a.m., Sun noon-9 p.m.


The sleek bi-level billiards parlor features pool tables, a snooker lounge, table tennis, flat-screen TVs and the signature Cue Ball cocktail (Stoli Vanil, Malibu rum, pineapple juice, lime). M-Th noon-1 a.m., F-Sa noon-4 a.m., Su noon-midnight.


This tiny jazz club offers at least three live acts nightly.

Smithfield Hall

Serving classic American eats and a number of cocktails and drafts, this midtown sports bars is the place to go to watch your favorite football, NCAA, basketball, hockey and baseball teams square off against their rivals. 


Short for Sports Nightlife And Pastime, this game-watching mecca screens nonstop sporting events on 16 high-definition TVs. Mon-Fri 6 p.m.-4 a.m., Sat & Sun noon-4 a.m.


Three floors (and a roof deck) on which to chill at happy hour. Live DJ Thurs-Sat. Mon-Sat 11:30 a.m.-4 a.m., Sun noon-4 a.m.

Social Bar & Grill

The red-faced building is easy to spot, and inside guests find a casual and traditional pub scene. Beers on tap can be paired with a hearty seletion of Irish and American plates, from roasted artichoke dip to chips with salt and vinegar to fish 'n' chips to shepherds pie. Mon-Sat 11 a.m.-4 a.m., Sun noon-4 a.m.
