Gramercy Park Hotel
Located on New York’s only private park, the historic Gramercy Park Hotel was reborn in 2006 under the art direction of visionary Julian Schnabel. Convenient to Union Square, Greenwich Village, SoHo and the Midtown Manhattan business district, the hotel is situated in one of the city’s most lovely residential enclaves. The dramatic two-story lobby is a rhapsody of Bohemian chic and opulence; glowing with a wood-burning fireplace and custom candles. Twentieth century masters—including Andy Warhol, Julian Schnabel, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Damien Hirst and Fernando Botero, adorn public spaces with an original collection of rotating artwork. The 185 guest rooms and suites blend Renaissance colors and bespoke furnishings with modern luxuries and state-of-the art technology. Rooms feature leather-topped desks, tapestry-upholstered chairs, 400-thread-count Italian linens, featherbeds, and jewel-toned velvet headboards. Amenities include high-definition LCD TVs, DVD players and iPod docking stations, while bathrooms offer Mascioni robes, custom sinks and showers or deep soaking Japanese bathtubs—along with superior skincare amenities from Aesop. The lushly landscaped Gramercy Terrace includes unique indoor and outdoor space, with a retractable roof 18 stories above the city—perfect for special events. Off of the lobby are the Rose and Jade bars, two of the city's most-celebrated glamorous hotspots for cocktails and people-watching. Maialino is a new Roman-style trattoria from award-winning Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group. It serves lovingly prepared Roman-style cooking from Executive Chef Nick Anderer and is open throughout the day, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner.
