A New Grill in Town

The Sea Fire Grill

I recently attended an office party at The Sea Fire Grill, the new midtown seafood restaurant owned by the two “Bens” behind Benjamin Steak House. On a numbingly cold Monday night, I was pleasantly surprised to see a packed and happy crowd at the sleek, cheery bar. The restaurant, done in tones of muted gold and cream is accented with recessed blue lights, mirrors and a shimmering blue accent wall that conveys an impressing of bubbling water. We were seated in the back dining room, centered by a huge, handsome marble fireplace. Apparently, owners Benjamin Prelvukaj and Ben Sinanaj know fish as well as they know their steak. From a select menu I had a starter of bibb lettuce, accented with candied walnuts and dressed with a light vinaigrette. The main course, a grilled salmon, came generously portioned, and sides that were offered included roasted mushrooms, fluffy mashed potatoes and hand-cut, well-salted and simply luscious French fries. The regular menu includes a generous sampling from a raw bar, a variety of fish dishes and appetizers such as grilled garlic prawns and cornmeal-crusted calamari. Service could not have been warmer or more attentive. Sea Fire Grill would make any fisherman—or woman—a happy camper.
