My ideal way to spend a summer day: walking on the beach at Coney Island, riding the Cyclone roller coaster and then heading to MCU Park to see the New York Mets’ farm team, the Brooklyn Cyclones, play a game of minor league baseball. Last summer, I saw the Cyclones twice. At both games, we were treated not only to a relaxing game of baseball, but also a fireworks show, a hot dog race, the wave, free t-shirts catapulted into the crowd, plenty of dancing—led by the Cyclones’ dance squad, The Beach Bums, and a great view of the Atlantic Ocean. The team’s first home game this year will be held June 18th against their local rivals, the Staten Island Yankees. You can find more information about the team’s schedule and tickets at brooklyncyclones.com.
