Saturday Night Live: The Exhibition and Upright Citizens Brigade Joins Forces for a Night of Laughs

Many of America’s most recognizable comedians honed their craft in improv groups before finding major stardom on the small and silver screens—including funny lady Amy Poehler.

The award-winning Parks and Recreation star became a household name thanks to her years-long stint on Saturday Night Live, and, before that, she made the rounds in Chicago’s improv comedy circuit. So, it is only fitting that Upright Citizens Brigade—the improv comedy and sketch comedy troupe she co-founded—would join forces with Saturday Night Live: The Exhibition, Premier Exhibitions 5th Avenue’s sprawling attraction that gives visitors an all-encompassing gander at every aspect of the program, which is meant to let them experience a “week in the life” of the legendary show.

On Sept. 23 at 6 p.m., the exhibition will host the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre for a night of comedy. The evening of laughs will take place on the exhibition’s recreation of the Studio 8H “home base” stage

Leading up to the event, the exhibit hosted an online competition for local stand-up comedians to submit their best material for a chance to open the show. Nick Polowy was tapped as the winner and will entertain the crowd, followed by UCB’s performers.

Admission to the event includes an all-access tour of Saturday Night Live: The Exhibition, a ticket to UCB’s performance and an open bar. For tickets and more info, click here.
