Where to "Carb up" This NYC Marathon Weekend 2017


The biggest marathon of the year is upon us! This weekend tens of thousands of running-enthusiasts will fill the streets of New York for the annual 26.2-mile race. With all that physical exersion, you're going to need to refuel and rehydrate. We've got a list of spots around NYC that will help you celebrate crossing that finish line with the best price ever: Carbs.

NoLita Fast-casual Italian spot The Sosta from Sam Wasser (of by Chloe.) and Chef Ali LaRaia is offering two specials for Marathon runners to enjoy - a Carbo Load Special where runners and guests receive 25% off their meal leading up to the marathon and a Day of Marathon Special where runners get a free bowl of pasta and a beer as a congratulatory meal!

Church & Dey at the Millennium Hilton New York Downtown has the “Pasta Fuel Up” promotion from Nov. 3rd-5th, where diners pay $25 for four varieties of unlimited pasta including a tagliatelle with seasonal vegetables and spicy ricotta cheese. 

On the Friday and Saturday before marathon Sunday, Perrine, at the Pierre hotel, has a “Load-Up” menu with dishes emphasizing protein and healthy carbs such as wild salmon with quinoa couscous. Entrees are $26.20 each and are accompanied by a wellness juice and in-house made protein bar. 

Also visit Davio's Nov. 3rd through Nov.5th between 5-10 pm for a two-course carbo load tasting menu for $42 a person that includes a choice of salad: arugula salad with lemon vinaigrette and Parmigiano or farro, cauliflower, green peas, peppadew vinaigrette and Parmigiano; and a choice of two entreés: spaghetti, San Marzano tomatoes and fresh basil; tagliatelle bolognese with braised veal, beef, pork and tomato sauce; hand-rolled potato gnocchi, organic mushrooms, basil, white truffle oil; or spaghettini, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, basil pesto. Reservations are recommended.

Visitors looking for a last minute hotel in the city during marathon weekend may want to consider the “Run this City” package at the Dream Midtown, available on Nov. 4 and 5 and inclusive of accommodations, a green juice, either a pizza or pasta from the Italian restaurant Serafina and a late check-out. Nightly rates from $269 and use the code marathon.

 Another overnight marathon package to consider for you and your cheering squad is the Millennium Broadway New York Times Square, just a short walk from the marathon finish line.
