Top 7 Spots to Celebrate National Meatball Day Tomorrow

Tomorrow marks National Meatball Day, a festive foodie “holiday” to honor one of our most beloved food items. If you're looking to celebrate this year, we've got you covered. From upscale meatballs at Davio’s to the saucy classic at The Meatball Shop, we've gathered an eclectic mix of the best meatballs around NYC. Meatball lovers unite!

Carmine’s on the Upper West Side and in Times Square will be selling their famous meatballs for just $1 from 2-3 pm in Times Square and 2-4 pm on the Upper West Side. Carmine’s meatballs are made with veal and beef and are rolled into enormous balls. All proceeds from the meatballs will go directly to the New York Common Pantry. The New York Common Pantry works towards the reduction of hunger and food insecurity through an array of programs that function to establish long-term independence and teach the importance of a nutritionally sound diet and active lifestyle.

No place does meatballs quite like The Meatball Shop, with options like meatball sliders, a hero or even naked balls. You can also mix and match different types of meatballs with different sauces. While dining here, be sure to end your meal with an ice-cream sandwich!

Come and savor the $100 meatball (which will continue to be available every weekend after meatball day) at Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse created by executive chef Juan Tourn, it’s made with Wagyu beef, truffle Caciocavallo cheese, foie gras, winter truffles — and topped with a creamy shallot and champagne sauce and a glass of 2012 Prunotto Barolo is included in the price!

Carbone’s cuisine capture the essence of the great Italian-American restaurants of mid-20th century in NYC. The food nods to that same history, but take its culinary cues from the great talents and techniques of the present and of the future. Familiar dishes like these saucy and tender meatballs taste better with each bite you take, and will have you wanting more after finishing this hearty serving.

Cucina Ciano is home to some of the best comfort Italian food in the city, and the meatballs here are no exception. The restaurant offers veal meatballs with a spicy arribbata sauce, as well as chicken meatballs served with sautéed spinach. In honor of National Meatball Day, the restaurant will be serving special veal and chicken meatball sliders for just $3.

West Village, and Williamsburg hotspot Motorimo is equally known for its delicious pizza as it is for its meatballs. These classic Italian meatballs are simmered in a savory and velvety tomato sauce for just $9 per order.

Flatiron district Greek steakhouse, Merakia is serving up its Hellenic meatballs, or keftedes, with a complimentary shot of the intensely anise-flavored apertif you either love or hate. A $14 plate of "Katerina's Keftedes" comes with three pan-seared Angus beef meatballs atop a spread of ouzo-infused tzatziki sauce.
