Sushi Star Now Open in Hell’s Kitchen

New Yorkers take their sushi seriously. Now foodies with a craving for the Japanese staple can add a new sushi spot to their must-try list: Sushi Star.

The restaurant, the brainchild of brothers Alex and Roman Volland—who also own New American eatery Barrio 47 in the West Village—opened up shop in Hell’s Kitchen earlier this week. The locale—complete with a modern, Japanese interior design, plus quirky touches such as a ceiling light fixture featuring retro-illuminated acrylic chopsticks—offers grab-and-go and delivery fare prepared daily by sushi chef Roy Handoko. The goods, including a selection of rolls, plus salads and a variety of noodle and teriyaki dishes, are simply packaged and showcased on refrigerated shelves. Folks can also dine onsite, where a la carte items, as well as sake and beer, are served at the counter. To view the complete menu, click here.
