Romance at The Rainbow Room

Romance at The Rainbow Room

Love always seems to play out differently in old movies. A guy sees a girl from across a crowded room, their eyes meet, and a big band plays as they glide across the dance floor. Romance in NYC is a bit different in 2016. Normally the setting is a crowded, no-frills bar and the soundtrack of romance includes a predictable rotation of current pop hits and downtempo tunes.

If you’re looking for a romantic “Old New York” night out on the town, visit The Rainbow Room. Perched atop 30 Rockefeller Plaza, the storied establishment (it’s been an NYC fixture for more than 80 years, FYI) offers far-reaching views of the Manhattan cityscape. In the sprawling space, lovebirds can enjoy a sumptuous dinner and take a spin on the rotating dance floor. The venue also features a lavish Sunday brunch, which sees the landmarked dance floor transform into a culinary stage comprised of several stations, each helmed by a chef with a cuisine specialty. Brunch also includes live music, and Svetlana & The Delancey Five will play at the venue this Sunday. To learn more about Sunday brunch and to make reservations, click here.

Visitors can also grab cocktails at Bar SixtyFive at Rainbow Room, which is adjacent to the venerable venue. The cocktail lounge features a menu of classic and contemporary libations, which visitors can enjoy while they take in views from the 65th floor outdoor terrace.

Rainbow Room is open for dinner on select evenings, with new dates to be announced soon. Bar SixtyFive at Rainbow Room is open Monday thru Friday from 5 p.m. to close.
