Get into the holiday spirit while you dine this holiday season at some of New York City’s best-decorated restaurants. Here are five festive places to ogle ornaments while you dine:

Rolf’s German Restaurant (Gramercy Park): Dine on traditional German fare (schnitzel, wursts, spätzle and more) among more holiday decorations than you could have imagined fit tastefully into one spot. Christmas ornaments, garlands, balls, ribbons, Santas, trees, angels, faux snow and more cover nearly every inch of this place. It’s impossible not to feel jolly when ensconced in all of this Christmas cheer.

Molly’s Pub (Kips Bay): This cozy Irish pub started off as a bar in the late 1800s, was a grocery store during Prohibition and then became a bar once more once Prohibition was repealed. Enjoy traditional Irish eats and American pub food while surrounded by loads of holiday lights strung up throughout the bar’s interior.

Pete’s Tavern (Gramercy Park): This Civil War Era bar is one of the oldest in the city and was frequented by the likes of O. Henry (who wrote “The Gift of the Magi” here). It presently offers Italian-American cuisine and, around this time of year, is full of holiday spirit. Festive Christmas lights are strung among greenery throughout the bar and there are cheer-inducing holiday decorations all around.

The NoMad Hotel (Flatiron): The Nomad Hotel puts up a large, decorated tree in The Library (a two-level restaurant/lounge where guests can get drinks, lighter food and snacks amid bookshelves stocked with a range of tomes about all sorts of topics). Quantity-wise, The Library is not as decorated as some of the other places listed. But quality-wise… well, there’s something magical about a beautifully decked-out Christmas tree.

Lillie’s Victorian Establishment (Times Square and Union Square): This Victorian Era-themed restaurant has gorgeous décor year-round, but during the holiday season, there is an added sense of festiveness in the air. Decorated to the nines with lights and baubles, it’s easy to get into the holiday spirit when you’re sipping a hot toddy while surrounded by greenery and the restaurant’s unique nutcracker collection.
